Support for Domestic Violence and Abuse

You Are Not Alone

At Gedney Church End Primary Academy, we recognise that domestic abuse can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, background or circumstances.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, you are not alone and support is available.

You may not be sure whether what you are experiencing is domestic abuse, or you may not feel ready to take action. You can still seek advice, talk confidentially to a specialist service and explore the support available to you.

If You Are in Immediate Danger

If you or your children are in immediate danger, call 999.

If you are concerned about the safety or wellbeing of a child, you can also speak to a member of our academy safeguarding team.

What Is Domestic Abuse?

Domestic abuse is not limited to physical violence. It can involve patterns of behaviour that are intended to control, threaten, intimidate or harm another person.

This might include emotional, physical, sexual, psychological or financial abuse, as well as controlling or coercive behaviour.

If something does not feel right in your relationship, you do not need to wait for things to become worse before asking for help.

Support at Gedney Church End

We understand that speaking about domestic abuse can be incredibly difficult.

If something happening at home is affecting you or your child, you can speak to a member of our safeguarding team. We will listen, take your concerns seriously and help you consider what support may be available.

Our priority will always be the safety and wellbeing of our learners and their families.
